A real place for real people

Locals have told us what they want from their new community: gathering spaces, sports fields, new retail and dining options, affordable housing and the preservation of the environment on and around the Fraser River.

They want to feel safe and secure. They want to recognize their neighbours. And they want to be able to walk everywhere. Already, River District is changing the way people experience the waterfront. You can now run, bike, play ball, picnic or walk your dog on trails and parkland by the water’s edge. Public areas have been restored, with new street furniture, lamps and other amenities welcoming visitors and local people back to the community.
